I have tried both the windows bootloader and Easy BCD and it either doesn't work or it works for a while and then has errors and i am having to do the recovery disk on one or both, and several times that didn't work.
Also as windows has a habit of spreading the boot files across multiple drives if one of the H.D's fail then Sometimes you cant boot into the one other good ones.
It just seems easier to avoid all of the hassle and leave them seperate.

Thanks for the info but I have tried that with mixed results as well sometimes it works and sometimes not.

Since I have 2 cloned Hard Drives and soon to add a third with MX Linux installed I am considering trying EasyBCD and or the windows bootloader again to see if I can get it to work right.
If it goes sideways again I will have the 3 separate installs to get work done.
Thanks to all for the expert advice I will give it a try over the weekend ,that's when I have time to tinker with things and I will post back to if things resolve as I am wanting.
I have 5 desktops and they all have Win10, Win7, and Linux on separate SSDs. I set them all up using EasyBCD with no problems. They also have Macrium and Win10XPE bootable partitions and they were added to the boot menu with EasyBCD as well. EasyBCD will allow you to save a backup of the boot menu and this is something you always want to do because Win10 major version updates sometimes overwrites your multiboot menu. You can also reorder the boot items, change to the metro style boot menu, or not, and change the timeout period. It’s very handy.
2 of those PC’s are UEFI firmware PCs on which I have added various boot options in addition to the above. Since they use the windows boot manager I can use EasyBCD to manage those boot menus as well.

I have been using EasyBCD for years and really like it. On one computer I have a dual-boot of Windows 10 and Windows 7.

One time the boot loader got messed up causing the computer not to boot to even the boot menu. I used the Windows 10 installation DVD to repair the boot loader. Once I was back into Windows 10 I ran EasyBCD and easily fixed the dual-boot by adding Windows 7.
