Boot to EFI shell and gather UEFI POST information

Hello, so Ive scoured the intrawebs for how to get a complete P.O.S.T. (Power ON Self Test) for UEFI and found exactly nothing.

Enabling the P.O.S.T. verbose in UEFI shows nothing verbose at all, just detection of devices and no info whatsoever, and also not able to save the result to file.

Ive encountered many recovery tools rfind, edk but none are suitable for this purpose.

Ideally I would like to get a complete P.O.S.T. to examine where the slowest portions are or if some checks can be disabled in order to streamline the P.O.S.T. process.

    Any suggestions?

Task manager > startup tab > right upper corner displays BIOS time.

To troubleshoot a slow boot > download and install Windows Performance Analyzer (WPA) > run 3 boot traces > find someone that can interpret the results (very few people available)

    Hello, thanks for reply.

Re: Bios time, its not relevant for the process. For clarification after POST windows boots in 11 seconds, give or take a second.

Re: WPA This tool is for after POST has happened, correct? According to Download and Install Windows Performance Toolkit in Windows 10 and docs it seems like its all after UEFI POST happened.

Unless Im misreading what this does.

So reading on. According to https://social.technet.microsoft.com...explained.aspx

The BIOS version, the BIOS configuration and the firmware of the computer hardware components can have an impact on the overall boot performance. There is no way to trace this phase using the Windows Performance Toolkit
I've made bold the relevant text part. So it confirms the POST process cant be traced using that tool.

So if this is true and there's no way to see whats going on, then no optimizations are possible to the POST process itself.

    Thanks in advance =)
