Send text from Chromebook

Hi Guys

I would like to be able to send a tex from my Chromebook and my windows 10.

Have followed instructions after a google, but I dont always seem to have an option as suggested.

Open Messages on your phone, open the menu, click on Messages for Web...

When I c/o message on mobile, that option is not available, my phone is a Galaxy j3 2017, I get 4 options

Even in the root 'Conversations View' menu?

No, afraid not, could my phone be outdated?

My Samsung Galaxy Note 10 running Android 10 does not have the "Messages for Web" option either.

In Windows 10 you use the "Your Phone" app, but I don't know about Chrome OS.

Are you using Google Messages, or another message app?
It's gotta be Google Messages.

Open it as a Progressive Web App and it's nice and tidy!

No, its the message icon that came with phone, not Google Meassages, if I go to play store to install that, will I still receive text messages as i do now?

Yes..., at first run, it'll prompt you as to which app you want to use as default.
