Upper Toolbar Help - Folder Layout

In W7 the upper toolbar's 'Open' had a pulldown with relative apps that one could pick to open a file with. In my case, a folder containing music files, the Open pulldown would list all my apps that would play a 'folder' if the app had a play folder ability. Where tf is this in W10? Or how do I configure all that stuff at the folder's top to do this?

    -thx

edit: perhaps the correct term is 'Folder Layout'?

You can access the Open With menu the same way in Windows 7. Just right click any file and choose Open With...

    Hello Marc,

Do you mean from the ribbon in File Explorer?

Hide or Show File Explorer Ribbon in Windows 10

Choose Default Apps in Windows 10

    Thx for the replies.

Certain files I DO NOT want a default association. Among many file types I will choose which app to open with. For example, I have several music player apps. Certain music I will use Player X, other music I will use Player Y etc. Sometimes it's whatever mood I am in, other times it will be based on the app's specific features. All this is my concern.

I need to put my W7 machine together and then take a screen shot to better clarify. Will be back tomorrow

    Ok - I'm back.

I know of no way to NOT have a default association. No matter. As long as I can learn how to get this W7 folder/file behavior in W10. Refer to image. You can see the default app icon next to the 'Open' and all 'relative' apps listed in the pulldown. I want this in W10. How? -thx

Oh man, Shawn! I totally spaced-out when you posted that image previously. I saw a tutorial for 'hiding' the 'Ribbon' and implemented that ('ribbon' that name, who would have thought? what 'toolbar' no longer popular?). Fortunately, you have shown me that I can ctrl+f1 as needed. That ribbon is quite a busy display ...

    Thx mate!
