Windows crashed? would not sleep, so told it to sleep, now no boot

Last night I told it to sleep, I thought maybe related to network sharing I had setup?
    It fell silent, fans off.

This am, fans running screen off, move mouse screen wakes showing log in screen, screen blips off and on every few seconds, can not interact with the screen. Keyboard numlock light is on can be turned off and on, nothing though.

So I unplug it and reboot, it tries to start 3 times, reboots, finally goes to the cant start screen and says attempting repairs. That runs for a while, then it reboots, and just a black screen whirling dots now for 30 minutes,

This is a 500gb WD Blue SSD, so what got corrupted?
    windows is 2o2h
    Do a reinstall?

Get this, it must not completely dead. the network shares are up on this PC, I just went in and opened the share, and modified a text document, so its OS is running. If you wait a while it sleeps, screen goes black. I also just copied a 32gb folder into the 'dead ' pc.

Well, I force reboots with power button 3 times, brought up startup repair, gave it my password, and windows tells me start up repair couldn't repair your PC

Ok, doing a reset this PC, cloud download install and keeping my files

about to give up claims PC cant be reset

Next step reset as in wipe it? I will wait an hour, and if no ideas here, that is my next step.

I just tried safe mode with networking, gives me a black screen

Every option so far failing to repair or install!
So I booted the USB install, wiped the partitions, and am reinstalling the OS from the USB now

Did the reinstall, it was good until the light blue screen that says 'Just a moment...' with a large wheeling circle above.
It has sat here now for quite a while.

weirder and weirder, MS just flashed a screen saying it needs an update, so I said ok

I bought this from Amazon, it is returnable until Jan next year. I will likely send it back as defective, and get a new one.

I ordered this drive on Oct 13 2020 from Amazon.
    It lasted about a month.
Right now it is hung on the 'getting files ready' install at 80%

I really think it is dead, maybe should get a Samsung EVO 860 instead

    Code:
Error code: 0xc0000225 = The object was not found.

Consider testing the drive with Sea Tools bootable or test with Ubuntu / Linux HD Sentinel:

Thanks but its not worth the effort. I already shipped it back to Amazon and they're refunding me.
windows install got stuck at 80%, let it run a long time, then just yanked the plug.

I bought a Samsung EVO 860. I also have another WD ssd Blue coming in unfortunately (feeling soured on them now) ... which I was going to put in my wife's desktop but will use it in this problem one.

The Samsung Evo has a very nice clone migration program, so will use that SSD in my wife's desktop instead of the WD ssd.

I do have an NVME and 1 TB Blue WD sata SSD's in other pc's and they have been fine for almost a year. Another Sandisk SSD couple years ago in my daughters laptop has been perfect. And last month put a Evo 860 in my desktop.

So far out of 6 ssd, I have one dud. Marking this solved cause drive died.

I got the new ssd WD blue 500gb drive today, I stuck it into the pc, booted the usb install, ran thru the setup which they have changed somewhat, I saw no way to opt out of a PIN. So I dont know how this will affect file shares.... and was back up into windows in about 10 minutes...

Turned on 4 services that are sharing related, and it shares fine without a password needed, which is good.
I wonder what the password is?

Sounds like it would've been the actual password to your main Windows account or whichever account (that is enabled) has read and/or write access to the share...
