DEBLOAT scripts - how to edit?

I want to run a Debloat script on a new W10 installation, but first I'd like to go through it to see what's included\disincluded and maybe make some changes.
How does one examine a script without activating it?

What is the file extension of the script?

Most of the time you can just use Notepad.

Most of the scripts I've looked at seem to be .ps1 - Powershell, I guess.
Yes, I've looked at one or two in Notepad but the ps line-by-line format gets scrambled.
One scriptwriter - Chris Titus - frequently observes on YouTube that 'it's easy to edit scripts' by hashing out the lines you don't need, but he never says exactly how this is done.

Either edit in PowerShell (see Windows PowerShell ISE under the Windows PowerShell entry in Start) or download and run Notepad ++

It should give you the proper formatting.

I would not change anyone's script if you don't know what you're doing.

Thanks. I'm reasonably au fait with most computer stuff but I haven't bothered with W10 until now. So I have little experience with that OS, or with a lot of the apps that guys like Chris Titus are using to manipulate debloat files.
I found a YouTube clip that seems to show the app that Chris uses to edit scripts. Perhaps you could identify it? Here's the link. The app is employed at 1m 25s.

On the other hand, I would never run something like DEBLOAT without carefully reading it to make sure you really want to remove everything it removes. (I tried. I gave up. I don't know what's critical to have.)

Swarfega, yes. I linked to that screen in my earlier #5 post. Have you run the clip? What's the app he's using to edit the script? It starts at 1m 25s

I believe the creator of that video,Chris Titus, is the author of DEBLOAT. I think he was using tools on GitHub - where he distributes DEBLOAT - to edit the script. (I know nothing about GitHub, but I assume it is a Linux-based platform.) As near as I can tell, he was updating the script, updating the GitHub repository with the updated script, and downloading the script to Windows from GitHub. Once downloaded, we would not need anything but a tool to edit the script, and OldNavyGuy gave a couple suggestions for doing that.

A bigger issue, IMO, is that the intended audience of Chris Titus video is already familiar with the script and with the processes that the script disables. The video makes it clear that we should decide for ourselves whether we want have it disable Defender, etc. That may be an obvious decision for something like Defender, but there are a lot of other things in the script that are less obvious.

I'm pretty ignorant of the internal workings of Windows, but but by no means the least knowledgeable. I could not tell what was OK to disable and what wasn't. I tried running the script on a test machine a couple months ago and had weird problems a couple weeks later. Related? I have no idea. But I restored the computer back to before I ran the script and had no more problems.

I've seen it recommended on the web that everybody run that script, but I know I am not technically competent enough to use it wisely.

Thanks pokeefe0001, but my last question was, what app is Chris Titus running in his video (it can be seen starting at 1m 25s) to step through and\or edit the script?
You seem to indicate that he's doing it in Linux. So is this editor he's using a Linux app?
