Deleting 2 No219GB Folders exact Copies of same downloaded TV Programs

I Found I had 2 exact copies of recorded TV Programs of over 10 years ago. I wish to delete the copies before examining the original recordings.

So I put them in the recycle bin, and as I now always examine the recycle Bin folder carefully before I delete anything permanently, I was horrified to see included in the recycle Bin: My main Boot Hard drive (C) and Recover Drive (D).

I did 2 snip copies showing the situation and restored them to their original positions. I checked the files in the folders just to see they were copies.

The total size of each Folder TV(1); TV(2); &TV EACH totals 219 GB in round Figures that's a GRAND total of 660GB this is strange, because the Total storage used over the decades must be only 309GB with of 571 GB still Free of the 880GB total allocation on Drive BOOT (C) with 18.6GB still Free of the 49.9 GB Allocation for Recovery Drive (D).
So I assume that there is only one Store of TV Programs and if any copy is deleted; it is, as if it were just a shortcut. This would account for the Recorded Folder of TV(1) as snipped showing just 312MB.

As shown in the snip attachment I will try and attach, there is a maximum size of 47125 MB for Boot (C)
At the end of the day . It is the other data perhaps being only 309GB-219GB or 90GB being my chief interest. The TV Programs can be destroyed as unimportant as a tinkling cymbal - I only listen to the Radio and then only briefly.
    Helpful comments will be appreciated.

After deleting in small stages all the contents of the second copy of the recorded TV 2 programs. From Boot(C:) all the contents of Folders Recorded TV (1) and Folder Recorded TV . The contents of both of these Folders also had been deleted.

While this has freed up a considerable amount (208GB) available space. But I have lost my films!!! Not the end of the World.

So perhaps to keep the contents in Folder Recorded TV where they were first presumably recorded into by the O.S. I should have done something different. Any Comments

But I wanted to “safe not sorry” and was worried of doing something to other After deleting in small stages all the contents of the second copy of the recorded TV 2 program.docxneeded information.

    @billz

First off, here is how to post a screen shot... use Option One
How to Upload and Post Screenshots and Files at Ten Forums

Once we get a screen shot, then we can move forward on this.

Here's the top image, as best as I could get...

@ Ghot: Sorry the attachment images I made using my record Snips. To try and explain further My Problem at the time. My spelling was not so bright either.

Firstly: I believed that having found apparently what I then believed to be 3 identical separate folders of identical data files was to delete the two copies one by one since they were very big and record my actions as I go.
This I tried to do. The clearer attachment (Which itself is a composite of 7 separate snips I was taking for my record Purposes
These 7 have coalesced into 3 without any help and I assume to be impossible for me to put them as they were saved originally and immediately on a word Page. to help me recall my actions.
The first was the upper Left Hand Side (LHS) snip as there was information assumed hidden by the front image of the upper LHS original snip the initial rear image was brought forward and a new snip now forming the upper Right(RHS) attachment image. and again pasted into word.

As I assumed the images may be difficult to read I later wrote any relevant information with a marker pen on the a word print to help anybody the overall picture I assumed was just to help.

Under the Top two snips (LHS & RHS) There is another snip just indicating the 3 equal data recorded TV folders again marked with Marker Pen again pasted into word as my record.

Similarly Under that image is another record snip of the: This PC>Boot C:> Users>Public>Recorded TV file just showing on my copy the top part of Folder sequence and the Marker pen appended notes of relevant information 69 files total memory 219GB etc.

Again under that record is a further snip of the Largest individual File 9+GB and appended marker pen Notes of File size etc.

Again under that record is a further snip of the Diagrammatic contents of Folder this pc and again Marker pen notes of Boot(C) Total data and Available data space. Similarly also for Recover (D)

I also took a snip of the this pc Folder after I deleted the presumed copy file TV(1) only to find I had deleted all the TV data. It was not attached although I tried to attach it.

I hope this helps any members

My Problem is now will it be possible to retrieve the data without damaging other data records.

"I was horrified to see included in the recycle Bin: My main Boot Hard drive (C) and Recover Drive (D)."

Each hard drive has a Recycle Bin.

What you are looking at is the Recycle Bin list for your system, not the contents of the Recycle Bin.

Example from my system (F: and C: drives) -

    Attachment 302748

In other words, your entire C drive and D drive contents are not in the Recycle Bin.

Hi Old Navy Guy, I was just reading one of your posts in The backup and restore forum to enquire if it is possible to reinstate my deletions as I describe in the above post using a restore point say 23.59hrs yesterday before I deleted my TV files thinking they were copies.

I will now mark this thread as solved and see if I can undo my mistake using a restore point in the Backup and Restore Forum.
My thanks to Ghot and Old Navy Guy for responding.

Unfortunately, System Restore does not restore personal data.

If you didn't empty the Recycle Bin yet, you can restore from there.

If so, you might try these free tools from NirSoft -

    ShadowCopyView -

    https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shadow_copy_view.html

    PreviousFilesRecovery -

    https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/previo..._recovery.html

It would be a good idea to start doing frequent disk image backups of your system, in case anything (lost data, drive failure, ransomware, etc.) goes wrong.

See my post above...unless you are talking about some other type of backup "restore point", Windows System Restore does not restore personal data.
