Stuck on Windows Boot Loading Circle + Random Screen Crash

    Hey all!

So basically, sometimes when I boot my computer up I get stuck. The spinning circle stops spinning midway and I'm stuck. The only solution I've found online for this is removing my mouse, keyboard and usb microphone, then I load up normally.

The other thing is a random crash I'll get, while my monitor is still on my screen will just go black or grey, might be depending on what program I was on at the time and I basically can't do anything, no crtl alt delete, nothing, my pc is on and I will have to restart or shutdown. It's not a BSOD crash, my screen just goes black or grey.

Then usually when I go start back up after the screen crash I get stuck back at my spinning circle problem.

Would these 2 issues correlate towards anything?

I'm still on windows version 1909, I have considered updating my windows to see if that might be the solution but I don't want to jump the gun, the issue has been a most recent one.

    Thank you =]

You can start by opening an administrator Command prompt and running

    sfc /scannow

    This will take a while.
    then run

    Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

    reboot and see what happens

Okay so after the first scan, this is the message I got.

"Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located atwindir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offlinerepairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag."

Then I ran the DSM.exe command as you stated right after that. Not sure if I should have done the online repairs as stated in the results of the first step first.

Now I'm currently waiting on dsm.exe but its been on 62.3% for some time now. :/

Edit: I randomly pressed a keybind and it jumped to 100% and I got no message after. Okay so I got "The restore operation completed successfully. The operation completed successfully."

    Going to reboot.

Rebooted and now I'm just chillin aha, was I supposed to expect something? I didn't do anything in regards to the first scan, was the dsm.exe scan supposed fix the issues in the first scan or do I have to do something else?

    Awaiting further instructions =]

    Perform a clean boot
    run the sfc /scannow again
and see if it fixes it this time
reboot with plugged devices to see if it is fixed.

After following those instructions I received the message "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."

I'm assuming this is a good sign. :)

I appreciate your help very much. I will mark this as solved for now. However the problem was very random so If I experience it again I will re-open and perhaps we can try some other methods, but I got a good feeling this was the issue since I was clearly missing some files as per initial instructions.

    Thanks again!
