Missing language bar in Windows 10 2004

Hi all, I have noticed that my language bar has gone missing. This has happened without me doing anything significant. I changed my windows setting due to work, but AFAIK, I don't make any major change when the issue occurs. I check my system restore point, and there isn't anything obvious.

Below is my language bar setting:

This is my task bar setting:

    Windows version: Windows 10 Pro
    Windows Version number: 2004
    OS build: 19041.508
Experience: Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.310

I prefer not to do a clean boot of my Windows, as I understand that my program and feature, i.e installed program will not be on the start menu, and my registry keys will be reset as well.

Things which I have tried, but do not work:

    Welcome to Ten Forums boyshawn.

Try updating to the optional cumulative update for build 29041.546, or wait until Patch Tuesday on 13th Oct. when this fix will be included in the new monthly CU.

    • Addresses an issue that, in some instances, prevents the Language Bar from appearing when the user signs in to a new session. This occurs even though the Language Bar is configured properly....

...Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update. In the Optional updates available area, you’ll find the link to download and install the update.

Thanks! I don't know that this is a known issue! Sadly, I don't have success updating it despite multiple attempts.

The error message is always the same: Failed to install on ‎4/‎10/‎2020 - 0x8024000b. I believe that the preview update service isn't smooth yet, so the update fails. I am okay to wait for a couple of day before the formal update arrives.

There should be nothing different in the process of downloading and installing the optional updates. It's the same service that performs the download, the only difference is a flag on the update servers that lets Windows Update know that it is optional. Once you choose to download it there should be no difference.

If you have an error now, you are likely to have the same error on Patch Tuesday. I would recommend running the Windows Update Troubleshooter.

Yes, you are right! I run the troubleshooter for update, following the instruction in the link, and there is issue!

But this doesn't resolve the update issue.

Allow me to show the update history:
    Update for Windows (KB4577063)
    Failed to install on ‎4/‎10/‎2020 - 0x8024000b

    Update for Windows (KB4577063) (3)
Last failed install attempt on ‎4/‎10/‎2020 - 0x8007000d

    2020-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 2004 for x64-based Systems (KB457156)
    Successfully installed on ‎11/‎9/‎2020
However, my language bar has miraculously returned! I don't know what exactly I did, but I enabled all of Windows services today (switch from Disabled to Manual). I don't think that they are root cause of the issue, because the language bar is there with those services disabled. I believe it is that changing of the services triggered some Windows cache/ configurations to be hard reset, so the language bar is back!!! Woooohoo!!

    Hi, you can try e.g.
Fix: Windows Update Error 0x8024000b on Windows 10 - Appuals.com

If no luck, I believe a few others have encountered a similar error, and the only solution found was an in-place upgrade repair install which keeps all progs and data like any upgrade.

You need a 2004 iso file, freely downloadable - tutorials available.
