    Windows10 - when it works
       #1022

Hi mods. I'm upset!! Windows updates, Intel and various other reasons have virtually crippled my computer to such an insecure state it's probably going to drive me off the rails.

Been fighting with it on and off for 2 years , but with no great references and no support left from the manufacturers without getting bounced all around.. i just can't deal with that right now.

Problems are vast and many but hardware includes P9x79 Deluxe mark1, a 3930k extreme, 1060 6gb, SSds, blah blah.
Stuck with a garbage trashy windows 10 efi to boot with, locked down my kernel, my cpu, no usable controls from OS for monitoring ANY peripherals, no gpu, no fans no temps no nothing.
But before all this happened, was quite the beast.

I want to get a new computer but ultimately worried there's some stuff windows created by VM using hypervisor, or Powershell... Such as Android SDK tools, TFTP local server for file and media transfer, undoubtedly set incorrectly, and I've seen other services listed too.

Gonna rome around, try to learn some stuff and chip in my experience (albeit limited on windows compared to mobile) where applicable.

    Thanks

    Always Why said:
Hello fellow members. I have been a Windows OS Desktop PC user for 22 years. I didn't get into computers (no need back then) until I was 44. Once I started using a computer I went hog-wild with curiosity and began exploring every feature in Windows OSes and soon began to build my own computers. Primary choices after 10 years are Intel, Asus, Corsair for main components.

    Glad to be here

    Welcome to Ten Forums,
A number of members are musicians, some with their own recording studios. If you ever need specialist audio help in Windows then you've come to the right place.

    Another newbie

    Hello,

I'm 66gary81 (just Gary to my friends), and I was moved to join a discussion forum to try to solve some problems with Win 10 and backups. (I'll get into all that in the appropriate place.) I'm 66 years-old, retired, happily married for 40 years, and have been using PCs since before they had hard drives! Windows has become such a porker, and so complex that I find myself nostalgic for the days when I was a DOS power user. It's tough going from that to not knowing what the heck is wrong, and not being able to find anyone who knows either. I look forward to learning here.
