    Missing items in Personalization.

    Hello everybody,
New member here. I just re-installed Win 10 on my laptop. I won't go into details on why i had to but over the years i'm amazed that each time you install Windows you have different things that don't work, that did work on another install.
This will be my first post of many because there a lot of things that don't work in this install. So this is the problem for this post. If i go to Settings and Personalization on the left panel Fonts and Taskbar are missing. How do i get these showing?

Hello Swingmaster01, and welcome to Ten Forums.

Your screenshot indicates you have an old build and version of Windows 10 installed since none of the items in the left pane have icons to the left of them like in the latest builds.

Which build of Windows 10 do you currently have installed?

    Find Windows 10 Build Number

Updating to the latest build should sort this for you.

The start icon appears to be classic shell ?
If true, how did things look before classic shell ?

In addition, the position of the clock at the far right of the taskbar narrows the version down to either 1511 or 1507. The Action center and clock swapped places in 1607 and later versions.

That is correct for your version, Taskbar did not get added to Personalization until version 1703, Fonts were added in version 1803. Lot's of settings worked differently or were not in the early builds. You need to update to the latest build, as Brink says.

Thank you everybody. As i said in my post i couldn't start the computer. So the only thing i had was an upgrade to Win 10 which was a few years old. Somebody asked which version i had . It was 10.0 build 10240. I realized that some things would be missing. So using Rufus i made a bootable USB drive and got a more recent build. So , now the problem is solved. Thanks.
