Power Options Keep Resetting

I feel like after a recent update, that either my power options keep resetting themselves or they reset themselves after each update since then.

One of the things I do on my computer, is use it as a media player. I use foobar2000. The audio plays out to an audio receiver, which is connected via HDMI. The receiver then links back to my monitor on the HDMI1 port. For normal computer use, I use a DisplayPort connection from PC to monitor. Therefore in this instance, DisplayPort is still in use for my PC's video and HDMI is used for sound. I only switch my monitor over to HDMI1 if I'm playing XBOX, since my XBOX is plugged into another HDMI passthrough port (it has 4).

That said, I'm noticing that my Power Options keep getting reset to 15 Minutes, specifically the option to have the monitor turn off. When my monitor turns off, the media player on my PC stops playing. Therefore, I'd manually gone in and set it to never turn off, something I'd discovered i needed to to awhile back to avoid this problem. Again, for some reason, this keeps getting reset to 15 minutes, as I was using my media player earlier when my monitor shut off due to inactivity, thus my media player stopped, as well.

Is there a way to fix this issue, permanently? I was thinking about maybe a script to run at bootup. I'd like some ideas, please. Thank you.

I'm questioning as to how/why this would work. It seems to me that the problem is more than likely linked to my most recent Windows update. I can't remember what version I was on, but now I'm on 2004. I updated on 6/24/20, yet the article you linked to is from 2019. So, my question for you (or anyone, for that matter is), what has 2004 done to my settings that might be applicable to the fixes described in that page you linked to? Or is there some other new feature in 2004 that is either bugged or can be turned off?

1. No service listed for Intel Ready Mode Technology.
2. Not using Avast. I even checked my Programs and Features to see if another installation app snuck it on my computer, which has happened in the past. I forget which app it was, though.

Is this for Laptops, by chance? I'm on a Desktop and based on tutorials, it seems to fit laptops, but I wouldn't know.

If that is your concern then roll back to the previous version you upgraded to 2004 from, see if that fixes it.

I can't rollback. I'm using a Bluetooth driver that doesn't support the previous version of Windows 10.

A while back, my Power Plans also started getting changed for no obvious reason. But in my case, it had nothing to do with Windows. It turned out that a third-party application, ASUS AiSuite, was resetting the power plans to be consistent with the power settings it had created for my CPU. I found this out by running Event Viewer and noting when the power plan was getting reset.

If you have AiSuite or any other third-party app that tries to optimize performance on your PC, it may be resetting the power plans itself.

If you're willing, run the V2 log collector from the BSOD forum and upload the zip file here. It collects a lot of data and may provide some info that will help us figure out what is causing the power option reset.

I'm using Your Phone to connect to my Android Phone. That worked fine prior to upgrading to Version 2004. What I was trying to accomplish at the time, was to receive all of my other audio sounds from my phone to my PC, so I needed to install Bluetooth Audio Receiver. This app required an upgrade.

I'll look into the log app you posted. I tried one last thing just now. I tried changing my setting to turn off the hard disk drive at 0 minutes, which didn't work, as my Turn off the display setting reset itself to 15 minutes, again. I'd set it to Never. Interestingly enough, I set it to Never, yesterday and when I booted it up, I noticed it was set to 1 hour, not 15 minutes.
