A simple view of Revo (free- pro has more features) is that it starts by listing installed programs.
You choose the one you want to uninstall.
That program's uninstaller runs as normal.
Then Revo does a scan for leftovers.
As a matter of routine I always use either Geek Uninstaller (quicker to use) or Revo to uninstall- many uninstallers are not written so as to be 100% complete. That's up to the author.
Revo (free) can only start with a fully installed program. If you have incomplete programs and want to do a forced install starting with a remnant file (not just registry keys) either buy a license, or there's Wise Uninstaller which incudes forced uninstall for free.
A trick is to reinstall a problem program, then start Revo and uninstall.
Windows runs with all manner of leftovers. NCH leftovers can be less desirable.
