    Changing Shortcut Details

I am unable to run Quicken 2004 on my recently purchased Lenovo laptop. It worked perfectly well on my previous laptop both are Windows 10 OS. Whilst comparing the Details Folder Path of the 2 shortcuts I noticed the Shortcut Details Folder Path on the new laptop needed to be changed to reflect where the desktop resides. How do I change the Folder Path in Shortcut Details?

Hi, it seems you are saying the program doesn't run, but then are concerned about shortcut details.

If you simply double click the program's exe file in the installation folder, does the program run or not?

If you can do that, you can readily create a new shortcut to it, e.g. by rt clicking it, dragging and clicking Create shortcuts here.

And if you have a shortcut but want to change its details, simply rt click it, Properties. E.g.

Thanks dalchina, the Quiken program runs briefly (flashes on screen). The problem I described above is the only thing I can see that is different between the 2 laptop Shortcut properties when I compared them. That's why I was wondering if I could change the Folder Path then try to run it again.

    - thanks. Clearly that's the thing to resolve if that's what you see starting it from the exe file before you consider any shortcut issues.

Try reviewing the link I quoted about installing it and see if there's anything there. Clearly it's an old program, so may need special attention to get it running, as seems posisble from that.

Due to my poor English reading skill, I cannot see the difference in the paths of the two shortcuts.

Click on the "Shortcut" tab and change the "Start in" box.

See screenshot my post #2 - note which tab is open.

But if the program doesn't run when using the exe file in the program's installation folder anyway, the shortcut is surely not your priority as I've said.
