Hp may void my warranty now what

I'm wondering if this could be a problem with Fast Startup. Can you remove the battery and try accessing the Bios when you restart the laptop? If you can't remove the battery disconnect the power supply and let the battery go completely dead. Then try accessing the Bios when you restart the laptop. If this works make the media with you're Windows OS the default start disk so you can do a clean install. If you are locked out of the Bios HP will have to reset the laptop. There are ways to reset a Bios password but I wouldn't recommend trusting any software that will bypass the Bios password

Edit: HP will not give you the code to bypass the Bios password. You would have to send them the laptop.

You are correct!
HP has told me that in fact they are now NOT resetting BIOS administrator passwords at all!
Now, they require a person needing an administrator password cleared because
1: the password is not known (and the person is not yet locked themselves out by entering a wrong password more than 3 times)

OR

2: is locked out for Any reason

To replace the main board at a cost of (I believe the price is) 485.00 and change.

As far as pulling the board out and doing the jumper change or the battery removal, having been a hardware technician/electronics engineering technician for near 30 years. I’m pretty sure that it would be a jumper position change.
My greatest fear is that it’s saved in a EPROM.
Which means a person would have to have an EPROM programmer. Not generally available to the normal consumer.
If the administrator password is locked in an EPROM I’m truly screwed. And so is every one else
That is locked out.
That’s my opinion but not necessarily gospel.

I didn’t put an administrator password in this computer.
Which naturally means I don’t know the password.
This company came out of a clean install Requiring one!!
In addition to that: it would be different if it came out of the clean install with a factory W10 is operating. But this computer displays no W10 OS at all. It appears as though its lost.looking for the OS that it’s supposed to have just spent 3+ hours installing.
I say that because what’s it’s putting on the screen is the HP logo with white dots chasing themselves around in a circle.!which is as I’m told an indication of hard drive activity. This is of course an ssd drive.

Has anyone ever seen this behavior before?
It’s obvious that HP has programmed it to show this an indication of SOMETHING, similar to the beeping system indicates different problems.

As far as the repair download and all that...
That’s all very nice but this machine isn’t on line.
It can’t even find its own OS That it supposedly has just installed.
But worse is that it come out of a clean install requiring a n administrator password to even get into it to find out why it can’t find the OS it just installed.

See the problem here?

HP HAS NO ACTUAL “OBLIGATION” . It’s all just PR.

If you have a Microsoft account, you might try the password associated with that.

There are was to remove the bios password but we cant discuss it but there are plenty of ways on Youtube for hp

The HP just finished it’s “clean install”

It opened the exact same screen!!!!

This time it’s a black screen with the little white dots chasing each other in a circle .
Very very disappointing!
I just don’t get it. :-(
How?! How, it just supposedly installed a factory W20 OS.
As I understand it there is a separate partition that contains the OS which it uses for a reinstall.
It either installed it and can’t bring it up or it sat here for 3 hours counting up to 100% and installing nothing.

I think I can get it to look at a USB port
But I don’t hold out any hope that it will let me select it as a boot up option.’
In case it will I have to put something ON a USB.

Considering the symptoms that this computer is displaying
What media would ya’ll say I use?

Going to BIOS Master Password Generator for Laptops gave me a page where I entered the 56F676B1 code. That gave me the following. Try it and see if it works.
