OneDrive doesn't show in File Explorer or on the taskbar

I've just started trying to use OneDrive and have a problem.

Windows 10 version 1909 updated.

I have read a lot of info on this forum and find that I am supposed to find access to OneDrive in File Explorer or on the Taskbar. Well, it doesn't show up on either. The only way I can find it is to look in users\name\onedrive. That seems awkward.

I hate to mess around too much in the system but should I try to uninstall Onedrive and then reinstall it? I don't know how to do that.

I just noticed that OneDrive does show up in File Explorer on one of my Pro machines but not on my Home machine. Should this matter?

My guess is that the sync client is not actively running on your machine.

from search launch "Groove.exe", this should force start the onedrive sync client and should then show in the taskbar. Once opened click on the "white Cloud and select More > settings.

From the general tab make sure "start Onedrive automatically when i sign in to windows" is checked.

Are you able to open OneDrive by running the file below?

%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\OneDrive\OneDrive.exe

If so, are you able to sign in to OneDrive afterwards?

No. The only way I can do that is running it from c:\users\me\onedrive. As I said in an edit to my first post, On a pro machine OneDrive shows on FileExplorer.

Just to verify, I'm not referring to opening the OneDrive folder.

Are you able to open the OneDrive app from the Start menu?

There may be a bug with OneDrive though since I'm not able to open it either in build 19564.

OneDrive doesn't appear on the Start menu. Further, it doesn't appear anywhere I can find in Appdata. Only in users\my name. From there I can open it and see all the files in it.

Go figure!

If you click Settings -- privacy -- app permissions, do you see

OneDrive doesn't show in File Explorer or on the taskbar-one-drive.png

This is interesting, OneDrive shows in both the Start menu and the Notification Area on both my RTM Pro Build 18363.657 and my IP/Insider Preview Pro Build 19564.1005. I haven't set OneDrive up on them yet.

Odd. You could try and reinstall the built-in OneDrive by downloading the latest 19.232.1124.0005 version below for Windows, and run the downloaded OneDriveSetup.exe file.
