    No sleep option

On a friends HP Pavilion Model p7-1256c I formatted and did a fresh install of W10 Home. All works fine except there is no sleep option. I have tried many suggestions here like chipset drivers from HP which it wouldn't accept. My friend is not too up on this stuff which is how I became involved. He had sleep prior to the new install so obviously there should be a way to get it working now. I have tried all the power options plus elevated command prompt and "powercfg -restoredefaultschemes; no luck.
Obviusly I have been into Windows power options without success.

Restart the computer and press F10 to enter Setup (Bios). Look for Advanced and Power Saving. If it is disabled, using your Enter and Arrow keys, Enable it.

Thanks I'll pass that on to him.

He says there was no power saving option there. One thing I failed to mention is that I threw a Linux Mint on a partition and it suspends OK there.

Yes I did but unless I missed something W10 wasn't there; highest was W8 so chose that. We installed the HP support program, but it didn't discover anything amiss.
I was using Teamviewer connected to his PC to try and solve this issue. So I couldn't go into BIOS myself.
Edit: I did find sites that have W10 driver downloads for his machine, but they are not HP so don't trust them.

Are there any warning icons in Device manager?
Are there any Other devices or Unknown devices in Device manager?
Have you asked Device manager, Display adaptors, <your display card's entry> to update drivers?

I'll try that next time I'm on line with him. Like I said we ran the HP utility. Thanks Denis.

What version (update) of Windows 10 did you install?

If everything is working except for the sleep option, then it is possibly a corrupt file.
    Try---sfc /scannow--- three times,
followed by---dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth---and see if that has any effect.

I forget now and don't have access right now. I think it was one I downloaded a couple of months ago; but all update were carried out.

Hopefully I'll connect to his PC tomorrow and I'll try that and thanks
