    Hardware error LiveKernelEvent 1a8

    Hi'
I upgraded a MSI CX640 laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 10 v.1909. Everything went ok during the update, but the next day the display went blank after a restart. Windows is loading, but the screen stays blank. When I press the power button short, the computer goes to sleep and after pressing the button again, Windows boots up properly. When I shut down the computer, Windows boots up normal again. But every time Windows restarts, it boots into a blank screen.
I did already a clean installation of Windows 10 - 1909 and it's the same problem.
I'm afraid, it's a graphic driver issue (Intel HD graphics 3000 and NVidia GeForce GT520M), or some other driver issue.
Unfortunately I couldn't find anything about this specific error and hopefully there is a fix for that. :)

    Hey bud

On a fresh install, at the point where you can create or delete the partition, have you tried adding drivers?
Its the little box bottom left of screen at that point. You can add all your original motherboard drivers, graphics drivers, all before the installation even starts. So when Windows has finished installing itself, fingers crossed you wont have any drivers to install.
If you are running Uefi setup, this driver process will strictly only allow signed drivers to work.

Install latest version of graphic card driver from below link.

NVIDIA DRIVERS GeForce Windows 10 Driver WHQL

You might need to disable Fast Boot if driver update have not resolve the problem.

    Hi guys,

unfortunately I don't have access to this laptop at the moment. It's working fine, except this graphic issue. Simple workaround: after a restart just closing the lid and wait a few seconds for the computer to sleep. After reopening the lid, the computer starts up properly.

I already tried disabling fast startup - no change. If I get the chance, I'll try some of the other suggestions.

    Thanks Pluginz and FreeBooter
