Started with DOS boxes, Amiga Commodores and Apple II clones in high school. In college, worked the help desk and did freelance IT contract work installing networks on the side. Later I did some work around IT in education and in my consulting gigs but have always been a fiddler rather than an expert at anything. I haven't done anything tech related for work for a while, but have way too much tech at home, running too many operating systems. Not an expert at anything. Always the noob. And oh, 'mono' because I wish I was that focused, and because I like photography, particularly in black and white, and am on other forums as that. Too many thinkpads, too many cameras. I just signed up because I stumbled on to a tutorial by Shawn Brinkley. For a while there I thought I was reading something by Microsoft and wondered what planet I was on where they had suddenly become so radically helpful and interesting.
