Unable to delete folder, see pic

I’m using Windows 10 with 1903. I’m unable to delete some folders aka directories. See the pic below. I tried various command line commands but they didn’t work. Like ‘’

‘’ didn’t work. How can I delete these two directories? The folders don't appear in the dir/x command results. Thx,

Try to do a disk check.
Open a CMD window as administrator and type:
chkdsk c: /f

It will say that the disk is in use and if you want to do no next boot = yes
Reboot

You are trying to delete folders in a library - they may have disappeared or got corrupted, so instead try rt-clicking on the level up ('pictures', immediately below 'music') and you should see the various folders in the library. Then try removing the offending folders.

Note that I don't use libraries myself, but turned them on to test, added a new folder, then renamed the source, hoping to get behaviour like yours, but the library just adjusted to the new name. So I instead deleted the source, and got the '... is unavailable...' message box you got. Deleting from the library made it disappear.

Try download PowerRun64 (download link is at the very bottom) and 7zip (the 2nd download link "x64"), open PowerRun64 and drag 7zip into white space in PowerRun64 and after dragging it, click the newly added 7zip file and click the > run button on the top left and head to C:\Users\Advait-Standard\Pictures\Vaishnavi right click and delete Vaishnavi, but be careful, it wont warn you nor will it move to recycle bin, itll be deleted immediatly, not 100% sure if this will work for corrupted folders but definetly worth a try.

Boot your PC from a Linux device. The folders can then be deleted.

Try this
1 left click on file/folder
2 right click on a file/folder
3 left click on PROPERTIES
4 left click on DETAILS tab
5 at the bottom of the window,left click on "Remove properties and personal information"
6 In the new window,left click on the second rdio button "Remove the following properties from this file".
7 in the SAME window,left click on "SELECT ALL"
8 in the SAME window,left click on O.K.
9 in DETAILS tab window,left click on O.K.
10 Should now be in the Recycle Bin

Here's the image of what I see. Nothing I can delete. Any way to fix this?

I suggest that you first open File explorer & go to the path C:\Users\%UserName% {you can just copy & paste that line straight into File explorer's address bar}
You should now be looking at the real location of your Pictures folder not its appearance-only reflection within your Library.
Then check it has the Pictures subfolder. Then look in the Pictures subfolder and see what subfolders it has. --Denis

Followed your instructions and the 2 zombie folders were not there. Any ideas? Thanks,

A very good idea but I don't have a Linux device. You mean something like WSL?

You can create a Linux device for free as long as you have a 2-GB USB stick or SD card.
I have a 2-GB bootable Linux SD card. Years ago, when I had some folders that could not be deleted by Windows, I used Linux to deleted them.
