bcdedit: The boot configuration data store could not be opened

I used Macrium Reflect to clone a disk onto another disk and now all BCD data has disappeared. When I run bcdedit, I get this:

The boot configuration data store could not be opened.
The system cannot find the file specified.

EasyBCD doesn't find a file either.

    Should I run bootrec /rebuildbcd?

Or do I have to do the sequence of:

    bootrec /fixmbr
    bootrec /fixbcd
    bootrec /scanos
    bootrec /rebuildbcd

Any other ideas before I run the above?

Also x:\boot\bcd is missing on all 3 disks that are bootable with Windows 10 (they are all clones).

Please boot your computer with Windows Setup Media and from Windows Recovery Environment start the Command Prompt.

Please type below commands into Command Prompt and press Enter key.

Following commands will repair Master Boot Record (MBR), Boot Sector and BCD Store.

    Code:
    Bootrec /FixMbr

    Bootrec /FixBoot

    Bootrec /scanos

    Bootrec /RebuildBcd

I am already booted into Win 10, possible to find bootrec anywhere in the filesystem? It's not in the path nor in C:\Windows\system32\ directory.
    Possible to download it?

The BCD store is not corrupted if you can boot into Windows 10.
The Bootrec command-line tool can only be used from Windows Recovery Environment.

I booted into 10, ran the Macrium Reflect disk clone/image. It corrupted the BCD store. None of the commands work. If I reboot now, it won't come back.

Is there any other way to rebuild it? I fear I won't be able to fix it if I reboot. but now I have the full access to the operating system.

I've had a similar problem before and tried the Windows 10 "fix the boot problem" while booting off the Win10 recovery flash and it didn't work.

I really don't understand how or why Macrium wiped out my BCD configuration. It worked before it and doesn't work now.

You could create a Macrium Reflect USB recovery drive, boot from that and run the option to fix boot problems. I prefer to use imaging rather than cloning to move an OS between drives.

do you think that's going to rebuild the BCD store issue?

You have a UEFI system. The BCD store is in the EFI partition, not C:\boot\BCD.

do you think that's going to rebuild the BCD store issue?
It's worked many times for me, but hang on a bit, let me see if I can get hold of someone.

If you read through this thread you'll see that you can use the following to fix the BCD for an EFI system: Moving / recreating EFI partition

Boot the computer using the Windows 10 installation media.
    - On the first screen, press SHIFT+F10 to bring up the command prompt.
    - Run the following commands at the command prompt.

    diskpart
    list disk
select disk # Note: Select the disk where the EFI System partition is
    list partition
select partition # Note: Select the EFI partition
    assign letter=s

list volume Note: Note the volume letter where the Windows OS is installed.
    exit

    bcdboot X:\windows /s S:

    Note:
Replace "X" with the volume letter of the Windows OS partition.
S: is your EFI partition you assigned above.

Once done, remove the letter S from the EFI partition.
