Try this, that solution has worked for several users who had problems with the sleep function in version 1903.

You might be right. Power switch is flaky. No idea how to check that. You've done just about everything settings-wise there is to do. I don't know if you can get into that laptop and make sure there are no loose connections, etc.

I agree that I done all the available settings possible,
but I don't want to take apart my whole laptop just for a power button.
I think that if it was faulty button connection then I would experience more power events like sudden shutdowns or a loop of turning on and off.

Indeed: I had the power button go out on my now-retired Dell XPS 2720 All-in-one. I put a new one in without taking the old one out, and left it dangling out of the case by its wires. Why did I do this? Same reason you just mentioned: only way to replace power switch is to take the case apart, pull the display panel out, then remove & replace old power switch with new one. Too much trouble. In your case, you might want to get a quote from a nearby PC shop for on/off/power switch replacement. Then you can at least think about whether it's worth the cost or not.

Just registered here to say thanks this worked for me on Windows 11 clean install a few months later my PC started waking from sleep mode almost immediately after I put it to sleep - I had to go to Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections - Ethernet - Properties - Configure button - Power Management - Allow this device to wake the computer set to disabled.

My power button was actually totally fine so I was surprised the wake logs were reporting power button when it was the ethernet adapter.
