Missing folders and icons from desktop screen

    Hello,
I have a problem, after uninstalling Blizzard launcher, some of my desktop folders and icons disappeared.
I don't know what happened, everything worked until then.

    Can anyone help me, please?

Sounds worryingly similar to this very recent thread, also Blizzard-related. You might want to address this to Blizzard's support.

Hi Dalchina, strange that I don't know what happened and what to do. I haven't met anything like this. Restart only does not help.

Suggest you follow that thread. Again I suggest you address this to Blizzard's support.

Presumably you have backups or disk images...

If you can't find your data, you need to search for it or try using data recovery programs - there are numerous ones.

    Recuva e.g.

Data can still be present on the disk but not visible in Windows - that's what happens if you SHIFT delete something for example.

I tried Recuva, but it shows me only shortcuts of these files and that files had more bigger size. After I recovered them, it wrote me information that the files are corrupted.

Recovery depends on whether the clusters used on disk for those files have been overwritten, assuming the files have been deleted somehow.

I was on Blizzard support and they said they wouldn't help me that they had nothing to do with it. And now I have a big 0.

    Then hopefully you have backups...?

Things do go wrong and you need to be prepared for that.
I've seen people in tears because they didn't have backups.

Repeatedly tenforums recommends the routine use of disk imaging- one form of backup.

Another thing to do is to keep personal data off C: - on a different partition or disk.

For years some have recommended not using the desktop for significant data.

I can't help you with Blizzard- I've shown you the other thread, which suggests an issue related to their software.

That's good-- things do go wrong sometimes- can't always fix problems I'm afraid. All we can do is be prepared as far as possible.
