In my system with 16 GB memory, there's no page file:

This has been set based on the max memory utilized, around 7-8 GB, with all of the programs opened and used. Generally, I don't even have half of the programs opened most of the times. The system had not have any issues with this setting.

The only disadvantage for not having page file is that in case of system crash, there's nowhere to write the mini crash dump. This can be overcome by specifying the dedicated dump file in the registry:
