Here's the tutorial on how to skip signing in:
Sign in User Account Automatically at Windows 10 Startup

and to skip on resuming from sleep:
Prevent Windows Asking for a Password on Wake Up from Sleep/Standby

I've lost the personally configured start menu.
There are so many annoying features of the Win 10 Start Menu I never use it. (But when I do, it does work, fortunately..) - I use Open Shell (free) - a full-featured start menu.

Sorry, can't help there: but for the future, you can save the layout as a backup:

    Please perform the following steps:

    1) Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
    2) sfc /scannow
    3) dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
    4) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    5) sfc /scannow
    6) chkdsk /scan
    7) net user test /add
    8) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread

    9) reboot
    10) logon with the new user named test
    11) report into the thread the findings with the new user

What is this going to help me solve? I'm very confused.

I've tried and tried, and I still don't have it. This is just too freakin' hard, damned MS. I spent well over 2 hours trying to understand, but everytime I started an instruction, it had a link to some other instruction. I'm just not smart enough, and I can't waste 2 hours trying to fix it. Dalchina - you've been so patient with me, I don't know what to say. Thank You!!!

I'm going to close this thread, and when I get some more time I might post about other problems. At least everything is functional now.

Thanks, sorry it's not working out for you. Unfortunately fixing things by remote control means a lot of guesswork- and as you may have 2 different problems (unsure) it's even more awkward, and can mean trying things to see what happens.

You might try asking a friend who's familiar with such things and who can see your PC in front of him/her.

These are some options to fix the problems:

    1) reset save files or reset save files equivalent (reinstall drivers and applications)

    Reset Windows 10

    2) clean install (reinstall drivers and applications, and reinstall files)

    Clean Install Windows 10
