Disable Quick Access on right click on File Explorer icon in taskbar?

    Hi all,

I have many folders pinned in my Quick Access, which I like that way (see screenshot below).

    (clickable)

But now, when I do a right click on the icon of a File Explorer folder on the taskbar, I get this huge column of Quick Access links and Recent folders (see screenshot below).

    (clickable)

Do you know any way I could disable that? When I right click on a File Explorer icon, I would just like to have the Close and Pin/Unpin options.

    Cheers

    1) Open File explorer.
    2) Click on View tab on the tab.

    3) Click on Options and change folder options.

    4) Under Privacy uncheck the frequent folders box.

    Hi FreeBooter,

Thanks, that helps a little, now the Recent folders don’t appear in the right click anymore.
However, the Quick Access folders still do, see screenshot below:

    Any idea? Thanks.

Have you clear the File Explorer history from Options applet.

I just did, and still get a column of my Quick Access links/folders when I right click a File Explorer icon on the Task Bar.

If you don't use the Jump List shortcuts for any of your programs, you can hide them with a registry edit. Under:
    Code:
    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
set the value of JumpListItems_Maximum to 0.

Hi KeithM and thanks for your answer.
Unfortunately that didn’t seem to work.
Here is the current situation (see GIF animation below): got a number of folders in my Quick Access and they still appear when I right click on my Explorer icon in the Taskbar.

You can unpin them from the list of folders.
