Black screen with cursor after Windows "repaired" my disc
Hello,
Hope someone can help.
My laptop was working perfectly, it's on the latest Windows 10 build.
Yesterday I saw I had a notification in the corner but action centre wouldn't open after clicking on it. Tried restarting explorer.exe, this didn't work and also messed up the touchpad, it wouldn't scroll anymore.
So I restarted the laptop, during restart it said it was scanning and repairing C: drive (maybe what the notification was about?).
Now when I log in I have black screen with a cursor, I can open task manager but it shows an error "taskmgr.exe - bad image, OLEACC.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing again..."
Pressing ok clears the message and allows me to use task manager. Have tried restarting explorer.exe, nothing happens and the "taskmgr.exe - bad image" error keeps popping up.
Have tried system restore, which failed.
Tried creating a new user, same problems occur.
Have tried chkdsk which found no errors.
I have got a Macrium reflect image from a few weeks back before I installed version 1903, but I was hoping there was something else I could try before attempting to restore the image as it would put me back on 1803.
thanks,
