Quick Access - now not working

    Hi,

This stopped allowing me to add locations to the sidebar in File Explorer some time ago (even though I can see them in the Quick access directory) and I tried various fixes since, none of which have worked.

    I tried:
    - deleting the files in Registry for
    • %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations
    • %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\CustomDestinations

which left me with two files that would not delete - see attached image.

    - un-ticking and re-ticking the two settings in
File Manager > View > Options > Change folder and search options

    - tried the Windows repair option

    None of these worked.

Having got used to working with it, I'm very frustrated to not now be able to use it - is there anything else I can do?

    Thanks,
    David

    Hello David,

As a test, see if using option 1 in the tutorial below to reset recent items and frequent places may help.

Reset and Clear Recent Items and Frequent Places in Windows 10

Next, make sure you have recent items and frequent places turned on for Quick Access.

Tried that - it cleared my Quick Access folder and I'm able to add some folders back to Quick Access, but none of them show in the sidebar.

If you pin them to Quick Access, do they show in the navigation pane afterwards?
