Before I start I'd just like to say that I'm no computer wiz, so please be kind
Just purchased a new PC (Lenovo) and was truly excited about it, it came with the 'free' upgrade to Windows 10. It seemed to be awesome until I, like what seems everyone else on here started noticing the mouse/pointer freezing and/or the keyboard freezing (while trying to type it would just be REALLY delayed). The mouse willjust freeze randomly, all else (like others mentioned) still works, music plays, alt tab, ctr alt del, just not the mouse..it freezed for a little while and then it reingages and is usable. Really frustrating. Computer is BRAND NEW...and should be top of the line, it's a Lenovo K450e
Thanks in advance...
I've still got my freezes. With some recent updates I've lost an ability to restore from sleep when I open the lid. Seems like I am going back to Win7 this weekend.
Yup, I'm on board ... and sinking fast.
For no apparent reason W10 became unstable a couple of days ago and now freezes (no response from anything) at random. The PC is totally unusable. I've read through this thread and will start implementing this evening (I'm currently on the laptop - also W10).

Disconnect all other drives except the drive for Win 10. Remove any expansion cards. The basics motherboard (not overclocked) , 1 hard drive. keyboard , mouse, internet connection. Nothing else. And make sure you select AHCI in bios. Run setup. If your suspect the hard drive do a FULL format on the drive. good luck
[QUOTE=Keepoman;312308]Hi! I have been getting these random freezes a couple of times now which locks up the entire system and forces me to do a hard restart and i have tried EVERYTHING to resolve it, but no luck. I tried updating all drivers to the newest, did a sfc /scannow which repaired all the corrupt files, firmware update of HDD and defragging the HDD.
I know there is nothing wrong with my hardware because this ONLY happens in Windows 10 and not in Windows 8.1. This is the 2nd time i'm installing Windows 10 to see if the issue was resolved somehow, but nope. Also tried with a upgrade and with a clean install 2 times.
Does anyone have any tips or fixes for this? It's really starting to drive me crazy..[/QUO
I'm sorry to say I have no tips or fixes for you. Since upgrading to windows 10 I've had problems with my computer randomly freezing up...lots of times when I'm trying to view a video. I have to hard reboot every time. I've been in "CHAT" with Microsoft for over 3 hours in two separate calls, with the trying this and trying that, yet the problem is still there. I will have to call yet again. I'm ready to go back to 8.1. Although I hate 8.1, it sure didnt give me these kinds of troubles!
