Windows 10: Windows 10 freezes randomly
@RWE . I finally found a solution that worked for me to get a working AMD driver for my Acer Aspire. I used wushowhide to stop the automatic driver update. Then I made sure I was using the generic driver for my video card. I deleted everything that had anything to do with AMD. I used IObit Uninstaller (free) Then I used Brinks link to download the legacy driver for my card. Latest AMD Catalyst Graphics Driver for Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums When I ran the installer I chose Custom and deselected everything except the driver and the one you can't deselect. After the install and a reboot I'm using driver 15.200.1062.1004 (08/03/2015) and no more lockups and very low CPU usage. Hope this helps you. I know it's a older driver but it works.
i have change my system from 7 to 10 and now i have this randomly freezes.
at first i read my old 570 Nvidia is the Problem but i install the newest 375 driver and also the lesser ones within 353. not solved
than i think my SSD (OCT Agility 3 120GB) is the Problme after this i buy yesterday a SSD Samsung 850 Evo - but it sitll the same.
i have no idea now - can help me someone pls
Still freezing up..it's a windows problem that ms cannot figure out. why put out this crap
Have you checked that all your drivers are up to date? Is there a bios update for your computer? I would check the OEM site of your hardware to see if there are any updates. Another possibility is if your running any third party security programs.
How do you know for sure it's a Windows problem. it could be a driver or a third party software problem. It may even be a corrupt file when the upgrade was installed. A in-place repair install may help.
How do i know you asked ..my system were fine under windows 7 that's how i know.
This is a clean install no upgrade
So others are getting this problem aswell? Strange it started for me shortly after Windows 10 anniversary update, and the freeze issue i seem to get is, i can see the screen and use my mouse for a minute or so and then it'll all lock up on me forcing me to hard restart. This may happen once every other day, i've tried messing with the power options and updating all drivers still havsn't worked for me but i did read something about disabling the C6 state, gonna give this a try and post back in a few days if it works.
Update: disabling the C6 state didn't have any effect but i did actually get an error in the event view before it froze on me and it was my avira anti virus, so gonna try unistalling that and see what effect this has.

This is the message i got with the last freeze.. stop code :critical process died
Ok i solved my random freezing issues for me it was Avira antivirus, theres a problem with the recent updates causing random system hangs, so if you have avira and are experiencing this problem just uninstall avira and you should be good.
During the first three attempts at installing windows 10, the process has frozen at 32% total installation and 6% on the "drivers and features" section. The entire process freezes and no animations play. No errors, after reboot from the freeze it...
I am on an Alienware Aurora R3 with Windows 7 Ultimate x64. I ran the media creation tool to upgrade to Windows 7, and it gets as far as 100% copying data. It then restarts, the dots circle once, and then they freeze. I force a restart and it...
Does anyone have this problem? A friend of mine recently installed Windows 10 and the computer started to freeze because of it. It was then downgraded back to Windows 8 but the problem persisted.
