    Timeline has vanished

My Timeline is no longer visible ---- all the past activities are no longer shown. All I get is what is displayed currently on the desktops. Search does not find anything, and I cannot find where the setting are, in case Timeline has got switched off. I think I once accessed some settings but that was from the Timeline itself, so not available now.

What do I have to do to get it back?

Some settings are hidden in Privacy. You can get to it by clicking Start and typing "Timeline" (or open Settings and use search box.

    Windows 10 Timeline has vanished

I am troubled with the same phenomenon.
It has been since Windows 10 freeze and turned off without shutdown.
I did the operation proposed above , but the timeline's history is not displayed.

Everything is set correctly in Settings, I have checked repeatedly, but still no Timeline. I have read tutorials and searched online. I think I have seen a passing reference to indexing being one of several suspects but cannot remember if it should be on or off. I have changed some Edge settings with no effect but if Edge is not set correctly (eg. browsing history) though it would not explain why no other activity is shown, as it was until a week or so ago.

Hmmmmmm.... I just checked mine. Same thing, just today and pieces of yesterday.

This is the message block I have at the tail-end of Timeline on the screen. Lower left. I have my settings just as Andre posted above, but do not have Sync turned on. The message seems to imply Sync must be on to get last 30 days activity, even if only one machine. Guess you're syncing to yourself. I'm gonna turn sync on, and see what it looks like tomorrow and next day. Maybe your issue, also.

As I recall when I upgraded to 1803, it took a few days of actively using the PC before Timeline kicked in. If something has reset Timeline and cleared all its history, then it may just be a matter of waiting patiently until it has sufficient history to be worth displaying.

Yes, if you don't sign in with an MS account Timeline just shows a maximum of 5 days on a single machine. Interestingly, even with sync turned off the Search box (top right) can find events up to 30 days ago on a single machine.

These time limits must have been increased by an update since I first looked at this, they were 3 and 14 days initially.

Have you tried restarting your PC after changing the Timeline settings?

    Timeline restored

I eventually got Timeline back, including earlier activities. What seems to have done it for me has been a link to a reg edit in the first Tutorial on the issue.....Enable Timeline.reg...…. plus having Indexing running and Windows Search set to on / automatic in Settings. I feared it had not been successful as it took about two days to appear.

As I said earlier, that seems to be normal. It took a few days to appear after my upgrade to 1803.
