    As I said, if you absolutely must have a DVD that plays on any standard DVD player you are stuck with MPEG2. Don't try to cram too much onto it and the quality will be the best the DVD Video disk standards allow.

    Well, they seem to have a player capable of using more modern formats, so that should be relatively easy.

    And that's exact approach I use to play my 4k/UHD videos that come out from my Sony a6500 camera because there is no affordable 4k/UHD authoring for consumers available now including blank UHD disks and UHD burners. I just copy M2TS files to portable HDD and plug it into USB port of my Samsung 4k/UHD player.
