    I have English US selected but suddenly I get canadian CMS I have tried the ctrl trick and changing the language which has now appeared on the task bar. I also tried the language settings but Canadian CMS does not appear on the language list just the English US

    The language appearing on the taskbar indicates you have a Canadian keyboard installed in addition to a US one. It is possible to install additional keyboard layouts without installing an additional language. That would appear to be what has happened here. See this tutorial for how to remove a keyboard layout.
