I just bought a new hp 570-p023 desktop with windows 10 home. Sometimes at startup it starts with a black screen I've tried everything i know and i can't get it to a log on screen. after turning power on and off many times it has finally booted up. What can i do to fix this?
YMMV but first I would call HP support. If you bought it locally, take it back for repair or replacement. ?
This is the second one I've had in less than a week. The first one crashed during setup. I got it replaced with this one. It did once or twice then it was ok. But today it did it and I had to turn the power off and on a dozen times before it would finally give me a log-on screen.
You should not have to do anything with a new computer, if it is failing t boot, and you have had it for less then one month, take it back and get another one. If it has been longer then a month, you will have to send it into to HP.
Unless you are installing something that is making it crash then that is on you.
Did you add any software ?
Purchase from a reputable dealer ? New or refurbished new ?
Regardless, demand another computer unless you have installed software which may be causing the issue.
It is brand new. Sealed in the box. I have not installed anything. Just added several shortcuts to sites i hoped would help me find a solution. My old desktop crashed while installing automatic updates. I could never get it to boot in any fashion to recovery anything. Not even with a windows startup disk. I bought another desktop with windows 10 and it crashed during initial setup. I got it replaced with this one and now i"m having boot problems. I've used HP products almost ever since they started and always with windows OS. But i am very frustrated especially with windows 10.
