Whatever installation route we decide to take, I do NOT recommend any Android emulator based installation. They are insanely slow and huge resource hogs. Although compatibility can be much better using an emulator.
Either a virtualization solution or install and boot on pure hardware is the best way to go.
That's mostly incorrect. ChromeOS is a potential successor to Android, at least on tablets. The architecture is the same, and you can run Android apps on ChromeOS, as I mentioned above.
