Open the HP website > support and drivers > HP Software and Driver Downloads for HP Printers, Laptops, Desktops and More | HP® Customer Support > enter the computers product or serial number > select the operating system > view drivers and bios > post a URL or hyperlink into the thread.

Please run the beta log collector and post a zip into the thread:

    (extract > open)

There a many problems that you have encountered after a clean install:
    Freezing
    black screen
    inability to access start menu

Can you start fresh with another clean install then install fresh drivers?

Everything works in safe mode. But, is it possible to run MS Word in safe mode?
I know Word has a safe mode, but what I mean is running Word when the computer is in safe mode.
It's my wife's computer and she needs it for a university exam coming up soon.

I do not know what I did but now the start menu works,-at least for the last five minutes.
I ran powershell and created a new user, then restarted. The new user did not appear on the startupscreen, only the old user so I logged in as the old user, and now it works.
Also the fan doesn't blow with gale force anymore, no more blackouts, everything is lightning fast and so far all seems good.

Have been using the computer several hours last night and this morning and everything works like a charm.
Installed Google Chrome last night and on some websites the screen blacked out repeatedly.
I visited the same sites with Edge and no blackouts.
    I uninstalled Chrome.
Seems like Chrome and Win 10 doesn't like each other very much.
If Win10 continues to behave like this I'm very happy with both it and the HP notebook,-everything works lightining fast with no hickups.
It was this link that seemed to solve the problem:

Is this a new computer or still under warranty ? If so, I would contact HP direct and/or the seller.

Also, consider doing a Reset under Recovery Options. Possible that an error occurred during reinstall.

    Still under warranty.
Recovery options offers two choices, either keep files and settings or a clean install.
I did a clean install and everything worked fine except for the start menu.
See the link in my post above,-it had several fixes for a troublesome start menu.
I ran a script in powershell and created a new user. This fixed the start menu.
Before, the fan blew at full speed constantly, now it never does that. Can barely hear it.
Also the computer is really fast, and everything works as expected for a 1000$ laptop.
