Not sure, but I think what Mike means is once it has forked away from the public release, a re-install would be required. Such as this 17134 going to 17142 or something. Once at 17142 (example only), opting out would require a clean install of SCU.

    That's how it was before.
    Ok...I C what you mean.

No point in even allowing to opt out from an insider build. Besides they expire very fast so you need a new build quite soon.

Be on an official build and opt out from insider programme or switch to release preview ring. Or if installing an insider build then one might as well be on insider programme.

Once the latest Windows version has been released, MS sends a cumulative update that allows anyone to opt out from Insider Programme, no matter how one arrived to that particular build.

Hmm so no point in waiting for MS to create another ISO build after the one due soon? Still did not fully understand if its safer to wait or not.

    Thanks.

It is always safer to wait. The longer you wait the more bugs has been sorted out. Don't be in such a hurry if you are afraid something will break.

The ISO becoming available today around 10am PT will be the base ISO for the life of the SCU. If you were to go to the MS download site right now and get the MCT, it would do create a 16299.15 ISO, the base FCU. So, barring any weird change in their practices, there will not be a different one to get....just cumulatives going forward.

I see, so I guess there is no point in waiting if that's how FCU was rolled out.. as baseline version with auto updates post clean installment by Windows Update..

    Thank you.

Actually, no. There was a 'December Refresh' and the MCT now makes an ISO for 16299.125 (I've just made an ISO to test that).
