    Replace 'Date' with 'Date Modified'

I've been reasonably successful in replacing the default Date column with Date Modified in folders. But how do I do the same for Open, and 'Save as' browse dialogs please?

Did you do the whole "Apply To Folders" process?

Open C:\ > View > Options > View > Apply to Folders button

Modify the columns in a 'Save' dialog while you are there, it should save the settings for the chosen destination only.

Thanks Edwin, I'll try that, although I really hope there is a solution (registry hack maybe?) that will avoid my having to do this for scores or possibly hundreds of dialogs.

    Later:
That doesn't work here anyway. I changed it for a specific folder and the first few saves to that folder correctly displayed Date Modified. But it didn't 'stick'. A couple of hours later, another save now shows Date again.

I've also found this same problem. What on earth does "date" mean anyway? We already have "Date Created" and "Date Modified", so...just "Date" seems meaningless. Has anyone found a more reliable update since this thread was first created?

That's a good idea. How do you change it to Date Modified?

Terry, where are you doing this from? A web browser, a program, all the above?

If I use Firefox and click on File, Save page as, the Date Modified column is shown. Same for File / Open. Can you provide a place I can try so I see what you are seeing?

Edit: Same with IE, Office programs.

You just right click in any column heading and a list of options appears, in which you can set your preferences.

As mentioned in my original post, this is “...in folders”.
