    All Apps on Start Menu

I gotta question. It's not a big deal, but I'm kinda anal.

The all apps button on the left edge of the start menu: on my menu it's up at the top of the menu. On every picture I've ever seen, the all apps button is at the bottom left of the menu right above the Start button (or what passes as a start button in Windows 10).

Can somebody please tell me why my all apps button is at the top and not the bottom like every one else on the planet?

Hello Kevin, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

By default, the "All apps" button should be the 3rd button from the top left like below if you have full screen Start turned on.

    Is this what you see?

Yep, that's the way it looks. I can't seem to find a picture of the other way now - figures.

If there a way to put icons and folders in the start menu into another folder and have that display in the start menu?

Edit: Turns out you can, but any icons within a folder will be taken out and put into the controlling folder.

    Welcome to TenForums @kevinv319

Unlike some other sites, @Brink keeps the tutorial screenshots up to date. All the other pictures you've seen are probably from old versions of Windows 10 and haven't been updated to reflect the changes in the Start layout introduced in 1607. One giveaway that it's from an old version is the position of the clock on the taskbar - it used to be at the far right, a position now occupied by Notifications. This is how 1511 looks...

That's exactly what I was thinking, but didn't know enuf to be sure. It takes a lot of time to track down every possibility to a problem and I just didn't have it.

Thanks for the tip. Now I can quit losing sleep over it!

You're welcome. I keep a test machine with all the old versions available on it just so that I can answer questions like yours.
