Hello i stopped buying games years ago, however I still have some i never played and would like to. They ate Balders Gate 2, a couple other RPG games of the same age, and Football manager 2005, and 2006.

    They won't work on.windows 10, will.they ?

This is party why i stopped pjaying them. I have dig up my old laptop connect speakers etc.

Is there any way to do it on.windows 10 , 22h2

Some may work in Windows 10 under compatibility mode when set for WinXP.
Change Compatibility Mode Settings for Apps in Windows 10

Some won't though, not if they are 16-bit apps. 64-bit Win10 can only run 32 and 64 bit apps.

However, 16-bit apps can be run in 32-bit Windows 10. If so, it might be worth installing 32-bit Windows 10, either on an older spare laptop, or as dual boot if you only have the one machine.

Dual boot is a big task isn't it ?

Do you have the games you mentioned? If so you could try to run them under Windows 10. If they don't run then uninstall them and come back here for further help.

It's your last resort if you have to run 16-bit apps. But on investigation, your Balders Gate 2, at least, is a 32-bit app that will install in Windows 10 (I found a 4 CD download and tested it).

Just try installing each of your games, you may be pleasantly surprised.....

OK, this is a pleasant surprise already... I thought there was no hope of them running at all.

I've got a couple more RPG games, morrowind? Icewind dale, and another one. I'll try them later in the week.

    Thanks to both of you.

I had to install in single player mode to get it to work - I don't think the multi-player servers exist any more

    @NE5

Good Old Games.com has most of the old games, re-written for Windows 10 and 11.

    For example...

    -85%
Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition on GOG.com

I have about 10 old games installed, they all work fine on Win 10 and Win 11.
I think the "newest" game I have is from 2003.

    I have...

    Doom 1 and Doom 2
    Icewind Dale 1 and 2
    Balder's Gate 1 and 2
    4x4 EVO 1 and 2
    NOX
    MS Links 2003 (golf)
    Sim City 2000
    The original ZELDA Classic...

They have ALL the OLD games. Just search for them on GOG.com and pay for them and download the "offline installer".
Just install the game and... play. GOG also has the original game manuals.

    For example...

    I also have...

    Unreal Gold
    ZORK
    Planescape Torment
    The Witcher
    Arcanum
    Return to Castle Wolfenstein 2

They also have a lot of FREE games, when they do their give-aways.
