Windows 10 won't load to login with USB3.0 card installed

I have installed two new (different make/model) PCIe USB3.0 expansion cards on my workstation. On every attempt to boot, at the end of the OS loading period (Windows 10 blue logo screen) Windows either hangs or displays a graphic message "your PC has encountered an error ..." and immediately shuts down. This happens when the OS has finished loading and the login screen should appear. I have tried both cards multiple times in both of the empty PCIe (x16) slots. Any suggestions? Thanks

    Hi there

First thing to do is to ensure the MOBO supports those particular cards.

Then ensure the card is seated properly and correctly installed -- if the card isn't installed properly --you need to ensure it's pushed all the way in - sometimes needs a bit of force --not too much or you will break it or the mobo.

Actually I'm not a great believer in USB 3 expansion slots (unless the Mobo already has support for USB 3 built in with some ports on the mobo) as you will be limited to the Mobo bus speed which will be far slower than a dedicated USB 3 Bus available on boards that already have at least one USB 3 port.

    Cheers
