wow there is really no benefit to installing or point to updating your chipset drivers if they are functioning and detected correctly in device manager, there will be no performance gains at all from updating them, all they do is tell your system how to properly identify the motherboard components, regardless if they say they have been updated that's only for new processors, so windows can identify the components and chipset and give it proper names in device manager. but as for performance gains from updating them none whatsoever at all.

The Intel® Chipset Device Software installs the Windows* INF files. An INF is a text file that provides the operating system with information about a piece of hardware on the system. In the case of the current Intel Chipset Device Software, that information is primarily the product name for the piece of hardware.
