I also have this problem. I tried xzion's trick, but after I typed in the "btpair -u" command and hit enter, nothing happened, just got a new command prompt. I assumed we are not supposed to include the quote marks, but I tried it both ways and neither worked.

Did you try the PowerShell script?

I posted a PowerShell script as a reply to this thread back in 2019. It deletes Bluetooth devices using the native Windows API, no 3rd party download. Just copy & pste the code into a PowerShell console window and press Enter.

You can start PowerShell from the WinX menu or from the Start Menu, or by right-clciking in the background of a FIle Explorer window that is displaying a file system location and selecting Open PowerShell window here

Ok, I was a bit leery of doing this, I'm not a full-blown geek, but I tried it and it did wipe out the device that wasn't pairing -- an "Oontz Angle 3" speaker.

I rebooted my laptop but now it will not pair with it. It's charged, blue light flashing, but W10 does not see it, although it works fine with my iPhone. Oh well, thanks for the help!

You do know that there is a Help page for every command in that bt tools website? Perhaps something there can help you.

I don't know if it is relevant to your situation but I have found that several Bluetooth devices refuse to pair with a new device until they have been unpaired with another e.g.
    - My earphones are normally paired with my smartphone but, if I want to use them with my computer then I first have to unpair them on the phone first, and
    - when I've finished using them on the computer I have to unpair them there before I can pair them with the phone again.
    - Not all my Bluetooth devices behave this way.

    Best of luck,
    Denis

Hmm, ok so I unpaired the speaker from my iPhone, but it still wouldn't pair with my W10 laptop.

Out of my 3 speakers, only one works, it will not pair with the other two.

So I just got a new speaker today, and my laptop will not pair with that either. It doesn't see it.

Now what? If this one speaker quits working, my laptop will be useless for any audio because the built-in sound is a joke.

wouldn't normally necro a thread but i spent two weeks trawling the internet trying to sort this out and this thread is pretty high up on the search rankings, hopefully can help someone.

    My symptoms:
    - Previously working bluetooth speaker (UE BOOM 2 in my case) stops connecting
    - Windows 10 'Bluetooth and other devices' menu shows the device as Paired
    - Pressing connect makes it attempt to connect but fails then it goes back to Paired
    - Remove device hides the device from the menu, but as soon as you turn bluetooth on and off, or restart the computer, the device comes back
    - You pull your hair out.

Solution that worked for me after much, much unsuccessful internet trawling and one system restore:
    - Download this 7 year old command line bluetooth toolset: Bluetooth command line tools - work with bluetooth from the command line
    - Install it, make sure you enable the option to "Add Bluetooth Command Line Tools directory to path"
    - Open Powershell
    - Put your device that isn't working properly into pairing mode
WARNING: THE FOLLOWING COMMAND WILL UNPAIR ALL BLUETOOTH DEVICES
    - type in "btpair -u"
    - Boom, all of a sudden Windows asks me if I want to allow pairing to my device that isn't working
    - Hit yes, successfully connected again
    - Cry tears of joy

God I hope that helps someone else.
Thank you so much!!! I was intended to remove my xbox one wireless controller in the Device and Printer panel. Tried several approaches to do that-none of them worked. Finally, your method became my hope, and magically it worked out just as fine as I wished. This kind-of-old method was so great and underrated. I had to create an account to thank you!

Hi, I just tried xzion's method but not exactly the same as his, and it worked pretty fine to me. My laptop couldn't discover my wireless controller anywhere. But after I typed
    btpair -n"Name_of_the_Bluetooth_Device" -p1234
in the Windows PowerShell prompt, it magically paired with my wireless controller, without seeing it in settings.

Note that you need to download the BluetoothCLTools.exe first, which could be found under xzion's thread. Then open a Windows PowerShell prompt. You can open it in many ways. My way was to press the Windows logo key, and then type in the word "Windows PowerShell". You will see it pop up.

After opening the PowerShell, you see something like this-------PS C:\Users\Administrator>.

Now try to type the code I typed:
    btpair -n"Name_of_the_Bluetooth_Device" -p1234
-n means to pair a remote device. You'll need to know the name (or friendly name) of your remote device. For example, "Oontz Angle 3 speaker". The exact name may vary. However, you said you paired it with your iPhone, right? So whatever name appeared in your iPhone when connecting to it, should be the name to use here.
-p1234 is just a random pin code to use. In this case, you don't need to worry about it. Simply type 1234 will be good here.

Hope this is clear and helpful to you!

    Best,

    Raph
