    Can't unhide a partition

After restoring a boot image using Macrium the HD has all it's partritions hidden. I've tried Command prompt admin - DISKPART, DISKPART> ATTRIBUTES VOLUME CLEAR HIDDEN
    got error message
DiskPart has encountered an error: Incorrect function.
See the System Event Log for more information.

Tried DISKPART clear readonly. It seemed to work yet didnt' fix it

This is how it all started. I wanted to start using a different boot drive with a big data partition. I also created a 450 MG recovery partition on this HD. I created a Macrium image of my current boot drive and also selected the small recovery partition.

When I restored to the diffeent HD, I selected both boot and recovery partitions and restored it. Upon reboot it didn't find the boot partition, so I had to put back in my other HD. When I looked at Disk Management I saw that Macrium created 2 more partitions. I deleted one and just made a small simple volume of the other. I wondered why it wouldn't retain the drive letter until I found out with DISKPART that all the partitions on that HD were hidden. Any suggestions?

    sel disk #
    ATTRIBUTES DISK CLEAR READONLY
    is the correct input

There are 2 (!) disks. Which one do you mean?

    But all is a disaster!

Disk 0 is the HD I was trying to retire, but is the only one that will boot. Disk 1 is the HD that's hidden

Could you please clarify which partition(s) you are concerned about?

You state "After restoring a boot image using Macrium the HD has all it's partritions hidden" but I'm really only seeing a potential issue with one partition.

Here is a summary of what I see:

Disk 0: The Windows partition has a drive letter of C: assigned. This should be visible to you now. Disk 0 also has a recovery tools partition which is normally not visible, nor is it assigned a drive letter. Finally, disk 0 also has another partition with drive letter L:. Again, that partition should be visible and accessible to you.

As for Disk 1, what I see is partitions with drive letters G: and E: and a recovery partition. G: and E: should be accessible, while the recovery partition is expected to be hidden.

So, the only partition that leaves (in my mind at least) is the logical partition on Disk 1 that has the label "EX PART". As far as I can see , you should be able to access this partition by simply assigning a drive letter to it.

I tried command prompt admion again and did this
    sel disk #
    ATTRIBUTES DISK CLEAR READONLY

it was successful, but when I LIST VOLUME I stil see the hidden on all the partitions. Will it be fixed once I reboot. So far every time I reboot I lose the drive letters for DISK 0

The partition I labeled EX PART was created by Macrium as unallocated space, so I thought I should make it a simple volume. Later I plan on merging it to the big partition of this 1T HD

Here's My PC. It all looks fine now, but when I reboot I lose F. I have to go to Disk Management and assign the drive letters again

I wonder if the way I created the macrium image and restored it to a different HD caused htis problem Macrium created 2 more partitions and all the partitiaons were hidden. I'm not used to restoring a partitions from scratch on a new HD, I'm never sure how to handle the Recovery partition. Are any files in that? Check out myt first post

I would say that you cloned some MBR partitions from MBR drive 0 into a GPT drive 1.
A GPT drive has a MSR partition (16G) that MBR doesn't.

The cloned 1T boot partition on drive 1 also isn't set as active. That also explain why it didn't boot as a GPT drive needs a EFI partition.
On Disk Manager - View - Top - Disk List

If you install a good partition manager like Minitool partition manager it will show the partitions that MS Disk manager don't.

As you have Macrium Reflect I don't understand why didn't you clone the whole drive enlarging the C: and data partitions.

i've never used GPT only MBR, because I'm not sure what advantages GPT has. I see no where in Disk Management or MiniTool Partition wizard that shows GPT or MBR. I recently formatted the HDD with a slow format and then made the 3 partitions. Unless I accidentally formatted the 1T HD as GPT, I don't know if that's the case. How can I find out?

The reason I didn't make a Macrium image of my whole HD is because it would have made too big of an image. I've always only imaged the boot drive to save space..

I hope I cna keep the data partition, but I’m wondering if I need to start all over and format the whole drive. Or clone the drive with MiniTool Partition.

So far none of the suggestions have solved this. Every boot up I have to use Disk Management to again assign the drive letter to the 1T HD large partition.
