    Disk Management Issue

    Using this tool

    Disk Management Issue-capture.png

I've always been able to right click on an existing partition and select shrink volume, extend volume, change drive letters and paths, plus several others

Now the only option not "dimmed" is delete partition

Anyone know what's going on?? I'm wanting to change a drive letter

    Thanks in advance..... Boowho

Hello, and welcome to Ten Forums.

Most of us use Minitool Partition Wizard (free). It's like Super-Disk Management.
If a hard drive is FULL of partitions, you can't move, resize, extend, etc., until you make some space.
Which is why "Delete" is lit up.

    Minitool looks like this...

NOTE: After you tell Minitool to do something... the "Apply" button is in the lower left corner.

And here's my Disk Management... (on Windows 11).

    @boowho

You should be able to "shrink" a partition in Disk Management. That should be lit up.
If things like that are missing... try running these commands... one at a time.
Open a command prompt, as Administrator.

    sfc /scannow

If SFC has any errors, fixed or not... then run this...

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

    Run cmd (admin)
    diskpart
    sel disk 0
    list par

select the last partition N (4 or 5)
    sel par N (replace N by 4 or5)
    det par
    set id=ebd0a0a2-b9e5-4433-87c0-68b6b72699c7
    gpt attributes=0x0000000000000000
    exit

Hope that the FS is not "RAW"

That partition does not have a file system.
    Did it have one before?

Please re-post that Disk mgmt diagram with expanded columns in the top half so all the text is visible - How to Post a Screenshot of Disk Management - TenForumsTutorials
In addition, it would be useful to have a look in the top half of the Disk mgmt window set to Disk list [its normal setting is Volume list].
    View menu, Top, Disk list.

    And welcome to TenForums.

It's really worth making time to browse through the Tutorial index - there's a shortcut to it at the top of every page.
    - At the foot of the Tutorial index is a shortcut to download it as a spreadsheet.
    - I download a new copy each month.
    - By downloading it as a spreadsheet I can benefit from Excel's excellent filtering capabilities when I search for topics of interest.
    - Tutorials are also listed by category at Tutorials - there's also a shortcut to that at the top of every page.
    - Both tutorial lists are searchable.
    - You can also search for TenForumsTutorials in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:tenforums.com/tutorials after your search term. For example,
    taskbar toolbars site:tenforums.com/tutorials

You can search TenForums using the search box in the top-right corner of all TenForums webpages or using Advanced Search - TenForums
    - You can also search TenForums threads in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:tenforums.com after your search term. For example,
Search for drivers by HardwareID site:tenforums.com
    - [This is what the search box in the top-right corner of TenForums webpages does automatically]

Mind a note? I like to also run Error checking [on Properties of the drive] and Optimizing [if having done a lot of file mangement] before doing the manipulation of partitions.
