The Seagate 14TB external drive is not reliably detected by Windows 10.
I tried to copy a folder over as a test but in less then a minute the drive was no longer detected.
I turned off the power to the drive then back on. Now detected so I did what #8 said to do but the drive was no longer detected by the time I got to: format fs=ntfs

Disk ### Status Size Free Dyn Gpt
    -------- ------------- ------- ------- --- ---
    Disk 0 Online 953 GB 1024 KB *
    Disk 1 Online 1863 GB 2048 KB
    * Disk 2 Online 12 TB 0 B * <--- seagate

    I got to this part:
    DISKPART> format fs=ntfs

    There is no volume selected.
Please select a volume and try again.
    -------------------------------------------------------

DiskGenius can detect it. I can do a format there.
Question: Is the drive no good at this point?

Is the drive misbehaving or is its cable?

It is the drive. As describe in earlier posts I tried on 2 pcs and multiple external usb to sata devices. I bought the latest that says it can handle drives up to 20TB.

OK but I could not see where you said you had tried swapping the drive's cable for another.
I thought you were talking about something like this.

Seagate 14TB hard drive not detected or files not found-71acmo9fbdl._ac_sl1500_.jpg
That is connected using a cable.

But your comments now make me think you are talking about an internal disk that you fit into an external enclosure. I did not appreciate that before.

    All the best,

You know that it is not a SATA Disk! The SAS Interface uses a different protocoll. It is not a consumer product and needs a rocksolid power supply.

    What I bought:
Seagate Expansion 14TB External Hard Drive HDD - USB 3.0, with Rescue Data Recovery Services (STKP14000402)
It tipped over and stopped being detected.
I took it out of the case and tried it in a SIIG external device. Not detected in either pc.

Next tried the usb3 to sata device:
USB 3.0 to SATA IDE Hard Drive Reader, YINNCEEN External Hard Drive Ultra Recovery Converter Universal Hard Drive Adapter Kit for 2.5/3.5 HDD/SSD Hard Drive Disk, Include 12V/2A Power Adapter.
    Not detected in either pc.

Next bought a MAIWO External Hard Drive Enclosure(6Gbps) with Hub Expander for 3.5 2.5 Inch SATA SSD HDD USB C to SATA III with UASP, 1 Port USB C Hub/2 Port USB A 10Gbps Hub. Works with drives up to 20TB.
Detected and with the use of DiskGenius was able to see the files.

The Seagate 14TB drive stops being detected by Windows 10 after a short time until I power off and on the device then the same issue happens. DiskGenius still able to detect.

Question: Should I use DiskGenius to Format the drive after I had done the steps above.
Is format fs=ntfs better then DiskGenius does or the same?

    Yes that is the one.

    - - - Updated - - -

The hard drive gets hot to the touch. Even though DiskGenius detects it I cannot even Format as the drive stops being detected.
Next step is to put it in the HP pc as a second drive. If that fails to work then I have a paperweight.....

I now have a paperweight. The drive was put in my HP z240 pc and failed the hard drive tests.
I do have copies of the files that were on that drive. I also have bought a new drive as a replacement.
