Issue booting computer.
Last week my mom experienced extreme slowness on her computer. It has 10 pro with the build unknown. Task manger showed a high cpu cycle history for the phone app which I disabled and reset. Also trend micro was unresponsive. I also did a clean with the native drive cleanup freeing ~1.5 gb. I started an SFC and left. It ran for over 12 hours and didn't complete but she stated that the computer was performing better. Starting yesterday she had slowness again, then the bsod critical_process_died. After that the computer loaded almost to the login screen but she didn't have the login option. She had the mouse cursor so windows was running. Since then Windows goes into an auto repair followed by a black screen. I've tried and can't get safe mode.
Using an install disk on usb created by the media creation tool I was only able to get a blue screen and the big menu box with the install or repair option closed so quickly I couldn't even read any messages on it. The same thing happens with 2 dvds. Also I can't boot Linux mint with the drive in. The drive does show up in the bios. However I can boot the install disks and linux mint with no drive or a different blank drive so I'm thinking that the drive is dying. I'm going to install 10 on the second drive and go from there but does anyone else concur? It's a custom computer and I don't at this time know the specs.
