its the ddrescue type of thing, but i probably have to try the safe mode scan/file replacement then, altho its a bit weird that a smart card reader created a new copy of itself in the device manager and it is also working while there is the faulty copy with the same name lol

We are going round in circles as suggested you need to drives with live cd or another pc and do a clean install you could have had it fixed by now and your making it hard for us to help if you don't take advise or answer questions

    Clean Install Windows 10

    - and as I said before, make sure you have accessible backups of any data you will need after the clean install.

Note: you will need to delete all partitions comprising your existing O/S as part of the procedure. Win 10 is installed to unallocated space and creates its own partitions.

Yes, "it" usually does fix a system with corrupted files. But if the hardware is broken (bad sectors on a drive) or the user intervenes and further compromises the system, then "it" can't perform miracles.

Having said that, I've seen threads go on in various forums for days and days with participants attempting to repair a corrupted system with a plethora of fixes, all to no avail ... although quite often with badly applied actions due to misuse/misunderstanding of the advices given. So much so that a clean install could have been done 10 times over.

well... i do not have any clue whatsoever when did this even happen, but probably yesterday i just did the regular nvidia drivers upgrade/reinstall and because 1 of the older usb2 drives was probably still connected, it also is now working completely normal and fine as needed, lol ??
i just tried to save a random picture somewhere and noticed that i can see 1 of those older drives again, so i do not have any clue what even caused it to fix itself, because i think that it has not even restarted at all after i (probably) restarted it myself after the new nvidia driver install (did not check any drives after that, nor have tested any other ones yet)

lol.. so now i tried some usb stick and its still not working, so maybe i just keep it in there for 24-48 hours to fix itself lol...

lol... so now i probably only have an option to use 1 disk at a time, because now the newer usb3 drive is not working when the older usb2 drive is connected (the one that randomly started working when the usb3 drive was not connected...)
and some of the small usb sticks arent working either (while 1 of them actually connected fine for some reason...)

.. would there be any logs in the event manager about it tho, and what could the sfc scan log say in the Cob file or smth?
