    Suspect SSD failure?

    Hi everyone
One of my (modest) PC's has a gigabyte H61 board, and has a Kingston 250Gb ssd C drive.
Recently this has failed startup - with message to say no operating system exists/ is available. Using the excellent macrium app, I can quickly get the backup relayed to the C drive and all is well.
Approx a week later the same thing happens again.
I have run checkdisk + the Belarc apps that tell me the disk is healthy!
However I suspect that the Kingston disk is the guilty party - what do you think? At the moment the samsung evo 870 is available at a knockdown price, so very tempted.
Your comments and thoughts very much appreciated.
    Thanks

You can check the disk of course starting with
    Crystal Diskinfo
    Hard Disk Sentinel (SSDs too)

and there may be specific manufacturer related utilities.

Many thanks guys for the info. All apps programs give my ssd a full health indication.

Argos (Bristol UK) currently have samsung 870 Qvo 1TB for £59.99
    870 EVO 250GB for £29.99

Thanks again for your help everyone, will have to wait and if I lose ssd data again in approx a week.

    Recently this has failed startup
Should it do so again, you might, out of curiosity, try using MReflect's boot disk and the Fix Boot feature.
Macrium Software | Fix Windows boot problems using Macrium rescue media

You could also boot your PC from a live boot disk or even a Win 10 install disk to a command prompt and see what you actually have on the disk at that point.

Other possibilities might even be your CMOS battery, for example. It looks as if the PC (in your specs) is quite old.

I had the exact same issue and it turned out to be two brand new ADATA SSDs that were causing the problem. Switched for a Toshiba and the problem never returned.

Buying a new 500g ssd drive is about ~$25 - 35. Use Macrium image to this new drive and see if the symptoms persist. You will always have a spare??

Look for a good and cheap crucial mx500 with hardware encryption supported by bitlocker.
