Any recommendation on external SSD drive?

    Hi,

I was looking to buy an SSD external hard drive 1TB. There are too many choices out there. Does anybody have any recommendation in terms of specific model or brands? I am mainly looking for quality and reliability.

    Please advice,

    Thank you.

    Hi,

Ghot's suggestion or the 2TB version of it.

Then there's this and the 2TB version of it.

There are 1-2 TB external HDD drives, you can't go far wrong with a WD Black.

You might also consider getting an enclosure and a separate drive, rather than a stand-alone SSD.

I am reading some reviews on amazon. Some people say it failed in just 5 months and some complain about expired certificate. Do you know anything about that?

    Amazon.com

With Amazon reviews, you need to remember that some people are... idiots.
Anything with 9,162 reviews of which 89% give 5 stars... is a good buy.

On Amazon when you see a serious amount of reviews... don't really go by individual reviews, always check what percentage gave the item 5 stars.

That's fair. Looks like majority use it for their gaming purposes. Nothing complicated for me just want to keep my backup and photographs in there safe for as long as possible.

Samsung makes ALL the parts for their SSDs. This is one of the main reasons they are worth the money, are reliable, etc.
They don't need to rely on other companies, making some of the parts.

Best part of all... it'll fit in your shirt pocket.
